I'm a free-spirited, kind of hippie, other-culture-loving, Vespa-obsessed mid-twenties girl with a passion for ending global poverty, abolishing sex trafficking, and keeping mamas with their babies. My husband and I strive to advocate for & pursue a slower, more ethical lifestyle, so I created this blog as a place for others who are passionate about world change to connect with Fair Trade artisan women (and men) around the world & help them support their families.

It’s easy to think it’s not that bad, but the reality? The fashion industry is responsible for 10% of global carbon emissions and over 90% of garment workers aren’t paid a living wage. It’s built on exploitation...of people and the planet.

The good news? You don’t have to be perfect to make a difference. Start small! Thrift, rewear, and invest in Fair Trade when you can. Every choice adds up!

In college, I read When Helping Hurts and had a major wake-up call.

I realized that while giving is important, it’s not always the best long-term solution.

Charity can meet an immediate need (and it has its time and place!), but without sustainability, it can unintentionally create cycles of dependency.

Here’s what I’ve learned:

✅ Jobs > Handouts: People don’t need pity...they need opportunities. Fair Trade and ethical businesses provide dignified, long-term employment.

✅ The Price Tag Reflects People: If something is cheap, someone, somewhere, is paying the real cost.

✅ Thoughtful Shopping = Real Impact: Every purchase is a chance to vote for the kind of world we want.

✨ Now, my wardrobe & my home is more intentional, and filled with pieces that uplift rather than exploit.

Had a coffee date with my sister-in-law at @thehavencoffeeroasters , and of course, had to grab a Lucky Charms Latte (because… St. Patty's vibes, right? 😏🍀).

Outfit details, clothes are thrifted:

👚 Blouse – Light, cottony, and just the right mix of white, blue, and green for a fresh, casual look.
👡 Classic Leather Sandals.
