I'm a free-spirited, kind of hippie, other-culture-loving, Vespa-obsessed mid-twenties girl with a passion for ending global poverty, abolishing sex trafficking, and keeping mamas with their babies. My husband and I strive to advocate for & pursue a slower, more ethical lifestyle, so I created this blog as a place for others who are passionate about world change to connect with Fair Trade artisan women (and men) around the world & help them support their families.

How do you spend your Thanksgiving??

Yesterday, my husband and I flew up from our home in Florida to be with family in Upstate NY and Pennsylvania for the first time in many years. It's safe to say that yes, we are FREEZING up here, but thankful to have the chance to sit at the table with family members that we haven't seen in a while & enjoy a Thanksgiving meal together. <3

When the desserts come out, the men will turn the football games on, and the ladies will look at all the Black Friday deals! I have some to share... ;)

While poverty and modernization challenge many traditional Artisans in India, she is able to earn fair wages while continuing to practice ancient block printing methods.

Our cat happens to love sleeping on our Anu Throw Blanket when we bring it out for our Fall/Christmas decor. 🎄

She looks so cozy & cute when she's all curled up in front of the Christmas Tree. ☺️

The Anu Throw is created by Ritu in India. Like many girls in India, Ritu married young and immediately took on the role of homemaker. As her family grew, her husband found it difficult to provide for Ritu and their three children. Basic necessities were slowly slipping out of their family’s reach. So Ritu became an Artisan for a local trader, but he exploited her. He paid her extremely meager and late wages, until Ritu could no longer afford the fees to send her children to school.

Now, as a part of this fair-trade Artisan community, Ritu feels that her future is secure. She earns enough income to send her children back to school and is confident they will have the tools they need to succeed!
