Hey, I’m Tawny!

I'm a free-spirited, kind of hippie, other-culture-loving, Vespa-obsessed mid-twenties girl with a passion for ending global poverty, abolishing sex trafficking, and keeping mamas with their babies. My husband and I strive to advocate for & pursue a slower, more ethical lifestyle, so I created this blog as a place for others who are passionate about world change to connect with Fair Trade artisan women (and men) around the world & help them support their families.

Well, it was on Friday. :)

As much as I feel like I was JUST HERE, celebrating my birthday, and the year has FLOWN BY, I'm thankful for what year 28 has brought me & taught me. I'm looking forward to year 29 in anticipation, & I'm reminded that I want to soak in every moment & enjoy this last year in my 20s. I'll be honest, the past few years I have been pretty depressed around this time, as I really pondered that I was closer to 30 than to 20. God has continued to remind me that Aging is a Privilege not everyone has. I'm truly so, so blessed & thankful that I still have so many friends & family who continue to love & support me. ️

Just like every year, I spent Friday and the rest of this weekend taking advantage of all the FREEBIES I could!

I hit up @starbucks for my free drink, my favorite little Fair Trade Boutique in downtown Lakeland @take.heart.africa ($5 off for my birthday!), my free bowl from @teriyakimadness, @sprinkles in Disney Springs for my FREE CUPCAKE, some Ramen in Orlando, and even an Acai Bowl at @tealargo before church yesterday morning.

I was also able to take out my new Cobalt Wrap from @tradesofhope, and I styled it as a head wrap!

I celebrated my birthday yesterday and this is what I wore. 🥰🎂🎉

It was 🔥🔥 H O T so I went for easy, comfy, cute, & colorful. 😘

Thrifted these shorts at @topbuttons 2 weeks ago and I've been loving them! 😍

I got this new Cobalt Wrap from @tradesofhope and it's handmade in Vietnam. I love the color, how light it is, and that I can wear it in the summer! I took it on its first day out as a head scarf, but I would love to try it in different ways! Any ideas for me?

My new Fiesta Earrings went perfectly because, well, my friends and I Fiesta'd for my big day! 🙃🎉

Finished the look off with my new Color Burst Bracelet, Orphan Prevention Necklace, & Noa Necklace, all made in India.

My go-to Barbie Rapunzel Inspired look for a themed Bachelorette weekend last month. 😘

I thrifted this dress off @poshmark a few years ago to do an Isabella from Encanto Halloween costume, and it's served me well to also work for other looks! Why buy new when you can be creative and get a ton of use out of it? 🥰

I tried to have some paintbrush vibes with my Soleil Earrings 🖌️🎨 🖼️

And finished off the look with some princessy necklaces, a pink tones bracelet stack & the Embroidered Iris Strap on my bag, all from @tradesofhope as usual. 😍

I also still wear my wedding day shoes for outfits like this. I got them 9 years ago at Target, and I still love them! 😘

This mission trip was the first time we'd ever been in Europe...the country was gorgeous, the people were so kind, & we can't wait to return one day. ♥️

It's made in Haiti by artisans who are able to work in a safe place, receive needed medical care, feed their children, send them to school, & not have to make the hard decision to give their loved babies up to orphanages. ♥️

I thrifted this dress at @topbuttons & I love bringing it out for beach days. It's so light & comfy + I can throw it on over my suit. It thought the pink was perfect for this weekend. 😘

My favorite thrifted shoes dressed it up even more since we were brunchin' at the @jwmorlando 🥰

Of course I added my Fair Trade accessories from @tradesofhope to complete the look.

I love these Capiz Shell Earrings made in the Philippines. They go so well with my Pearl Necklace strand, paired with the Silver Charming Necklace + Framed Leaf Charm. And added a little more pink with the moonstones in my Warm Sands Bracelet & Pink Jasper in my Indian Rose Bracelet. All made in India. ♥️
