Happy Friday! If you’re following us on Instagram, you would have noticed by now that I’m in Nashville this weekend! I’m actually attending the Trades of Hope conference called Empower! I wanted to sneak this post in from our Tuesday night adventure over to our local county fair, especially since I was sporting some fair trade jewelry.
Still getting used to the whole “modeling in the middle of public spaces” thing, but people were walking by making comments that we must be famous. Haha, maybe they’ll come find our blog one day and see that we totally are! 😉 Shout out to Luke for being a super amazing and patient husband who takes me on adventures and snaps these photos for me.
I forget how much I love fishtail braiding my hair. I honestly did it this time to hide the paint that is still in my hair from all the painting going on in the camper!
This bracelet was made by empowered artisans in India. It’s definitely my go-to bracelet since it matches with so many things, and it makes my outfits look a lot more dressy just by throwing it on I think! I also have super small wrists, so I love that I can adjust it’s size to make it fit a little better. I tend to have issues with bracelets like this either catching on my hair since its so long, or pinching my skin &/or arm hair. This one surprisingly doesn’t do any of those things! The poverty cycle in India continues primarily because of the lack of proper education. Most schools are not free in India and many cannot afford to send their children to school. Girls’ educations are often neglected as they are considered burdens on their families. Therefore, many children never learn to read or write and grow up to very limited opportunities. However, through this artisan group, futures are being transformed. Women are being empowered and their children are provided with a free education. An impact to be felt for generations to come.
I had to get a pic in of Luke. Hopefully as time goes on and we get more confident at this, we can start asking people to take pics of us together while we’re on our adventures. I also want to invest in a good tripod.
